Osaka Based Plastic Manufacture Creates Mask Strap-band and Donates to Locals

Sunlight Kasei is a plastic manufacture based in Osaka that makes plastic parts for automobile manufacturers and other purposes but the president of the western Japan-based company, Katsuhiro Kume decided to dive into the mask band project to boost employees’ morale by giving them a sense of contributing to society. 

Wearing the mask in the long run can be painful to the ear and cause discomfort, for some it even leaves marks on their skin. The band developed has 4 different levels to hook on depending on the users preferred size.

The company has donated as many as 55,000 bands so far, Kume has stated that he would be “delighted if they reach people who need them and make them happy.” hey have also plan to give away more of the bands to residents near its plants in Yao, Osaka Prefecture, and Aira in southwestern Japan’s Kagoshima Prefecture.

So far, Sunlight Kasei has given out the plastic bands to around 20 local governments, schools, day-care facilities and hospitals primarily in Osaka and Kagoshima prefectures.
