Fukuoka Shoyu

Established more than 100 years ago, Fukuoka Shoyu (Soy Sauce) is a brewing house located in the mountains of Iga City, Mie Prefecture. It’s not a full hearty meal but if you want to your hands on one of the best staple ingredients of Japanese food, this soy sauce is a must get for you to bring home and it is certainly certified halal.

Daiki

If you’re into lobster and abalone, Daiki serves authentic Japanese style seafood cuisine and sushi. It it vegetarian friendly. This place doesn’t serve meat but does have alcohol beverages sold. Be sure to ask your meal not to be added with mirin or sake especially in their rice. You can have sashimi, fresh raw lobster and seafood served right to you.

Okuda Igaushi

This place serves delicious halal meat in a very cozy Japanese style restaurant. They accommodate foreign taste with various halal sauce, you can choose on your own.

You can even have their food on take out if you wish to have some halal food during your journey. A prayer room is prepared as well for your convenience. Enjoy the highest quality of halal yakiniku in Nabari city!

Yakiniku Okuda has various meals start from 980 yen for beef, 460 yen for seafood, and set menu start from 3,500 yen. It’s located not too far from Nabari station, you can reach it within 15-20 minutes walk.

Nikaku Shokudo

At first glance, it looks just like an old Japanese restaurant. But you’ll be surprised with the ninja style as the door of the entrance is a trick as you enter inside! They have many food menus with a ninja theme! The ambience takes you to the ninja culture and they have an excellent display of ninjas.

You can watch a ninja video produced by Ashura, the ninja team showing performances in Ninja Museum while waiting for your meal.

Although pork is used in the establishment and not a fully approved halal kitchen but Nikaku has a special separate set of cooking utensils and tableware is used for halal and non-halal dishes to cater to Muslim patrons.

This shop is located in front of Uenoshi train station and 500m away from Iga-Ryu. it’s a perfect spot for you to relax here after all that ninja training in Iga-Ryu!

Ama-Hut Hachimankamado

Experience what is like to dive and pick oyster and pearls like an Ama! Ama means traditional Japanese woman diver, one of the oldest profession for Japanese women who already existed since 3,000 years ago. Ama culture becomes one of the main attractions for tourist in Toba. Meet the real Ama-san and have a chat with them, you can take a tour organized by Hachimankamado, a tour operator owned by local residents.

On this tour, you will visit Ama hut and have fresh seafood grilled by the Ama in front of you. For Muslim tourist, the meals are made with non-alcohol homemade miso and shoyu sauce. While enjoying the appetizing seafood, The Ama san will tell their history and their experience doing this traditional fishery while you eat. At the end of the tour, you can wear an Ama costume and strike a pose in front of the hut for a memorable picture!
